My Testimony: Be Still. God Heals

“Let us return to the Lord, for He has torn and He will heal us.”

-Book of Hosea

More often that not, life is difficult. I overcame difficult circumstances in my life, and also from my observation and learning from others, many are also faced crises with great courage and determination.

Mrs. Wong letter sent to my church Pastor in EPPC began like this: “We lost our only son. Why should it happen to us?” It ended with, “A very precious part of our lives has been torn away – my son can never be replaced. We will never be what we used to be.”

Tragedy, pain, hurt, past memory, suffering and so forth are forming part of our life journey with God. Until very recently, the financial crisis collapse first in the US and then hitting on every country rich and poor, there is a totally a new dimension of huge paradigm shifting had been happening. Losing homes due to unemployment, companies and banks went bankrupt, social unrest due to rise in depression, suicide and crime as well as violence in families are the endless nightmares causing insomnia and sleeping disorder among children, youngster, parents, young adults and senior citizens around the world.

We can not immunize ourselves from it. It comes least expected, and most of the time it overpower our reasoning, logic thinking and ability to think even until at the point immobilizes us. We are frozen. Like an iceberg submerged in a sea of pain and sorrow.

We are demolished. Our lives torn into shreds and we hear the echoes, rebounding our cries. Our sense of awareness, concern or conscience contact with everyday activities become pointless and meaningless.

Mrs. Wong who lost her only son since six months ago lived in a world without time, without peace and without hope. Nothing I say to her can replace “the part that has been torn away.”

But I know God has had embedded into our DNA to be resilient since from the very first day we are born out of mother worm. Our DNA intelligent knows how is the God’s Insight for us to bounce back from any tragedy, set back, disappointment, hurt, pain and so forth.

My Transformation Testimony
I myself was a very shy person since my child-hold and constantly been abused by my mother through biting, harsh words and threatening. All these distorted method of bringing up a child to adulthood has been deeply embedded and rooted in my sub-consciousness. This mental state has been carried on into my high school, college and university life and then in my working life. Whenever I meet with obstacles, failures, disappointment and setback in my working relationship with others, friendship with church members and opposite sex, my mental state tend to recall back the past many years of abuse during my child-hold.

Until I found the Love of Jesus that filled my heart; after my parents, my church members, the society, the multimedia in Internet, TV, movie and entertainment could not. I have been consistently every night praying to God in my daily walk with Him by reading the book of Psalm in Bible. Psalm is the focus point of King David prayer life.

God’s Love through His begotten son Jesus Christ’s Love and His Spirit “Holy Spirit” – there is no wound that can not be healed. Of course the scares still remain as a reminder, in our outer memory stage that forms our experiences.

I well remember another remarkable recovery story of Mrs. Lim who battled with her breast cancer to a total remission, unfortunately later she met with a car accident which partially paralyzed her. She recovered fully later and testifying in the church saying, “The courage to face any crisis is like a bright candle along a dark and mysterious tunnel. We just have to keep the Holy Sprit within us to burn in order to keep the flame alight.”

When we are facing with crisis, I mean the financial crisis, we can wilt and wither away, OR we can pray to God to grant us the serenity and peace of our mind to battle it out with our inner Will and Courage by the strengthening from the Holy Spirit presence by our constantly feeding with the word of Bible.

That is I view as “A Time To Grow” during this financial crisis period. And with every stage of our personal growth with Jesus hand-in-hand, we can become stronger and more resilient. The financial crisis is a time for us to grow in more mature.

Of course the Lord is always besides us, holding our hands through
a. The direction provided by His word,
b. Jesus Love fills our heart, mind and body,
c. Holy Spirit present within us,
d. the unseen angels send by God surrounding us helping us to do battle against the wicked spirits resides in the high places.

“They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. Amen.” – Book of Psalm.

This line reveals a fundamental truth that our efforts to reclaim our lives will be rewarded. The law of “Cause and Effects rules in our lives.”

“Daniel, ten years from now, you will be reaching the year of Jubilee according to Bible. Will you still writing your testimony – A Reason To Live?” Jenifer asked. The interest shown in her beloved face. It was a serious question.

“I don’t see why not,” I said. “I think I will be still continue to write my personal blog along my life journey with Jesus. Every stage of my life bring to me new Insight, Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding that can be shared with others through the cyberspace Blog world in Internet.
